DAY 1

Read Exodus 16:1-20

  • How did God provide food for the Israelites?

  • How did God use food to test the Israelites’ faith in Him?

  • How do you think you would have behaved if you had lived through this experience?  Would you have gathered a lot, gathered a little, attempted to save some for the next day, etc.?  What might your answer tell you about yourself?

     

DAY 2

Read Exodus 17:1-7

  • Now what were the people complaining about?

  • How does their complaining show a lack of faith?

  • How does God’s solution require faith from Moses?  

DAY 3

Read Exodus 16:32-36

  • Which item is kept with the Ark of the Covenant as a reminder of God’s provision?

  • What do you think it was supposed to remind the people?

  • What does it remind you?

Day 4

Read Exodus 25:23-30

  • How is bread incorporated in the design of the Tabernacle?

  • How is bread incorporated into our modern worship?

Day 5

Read Psalm 23

  • What does this Scripture say about God’s provision?

  • How does it show God going above and beyond in meeting our needs?

  • When have you experienced God’s extravagant provision?

DAY 6

Read Ezekiel 34:13-19

  • On what kind of land is God planning to shepherd His people?

  • What complaint does God make against the strong and powerful?

  • How does this scripture apply to us living in modern times?

DAY 7

Read Luke 22:17-20

  • What do the bread and wine symbolize?  

  • Beyond physical hunger and thirst, what deeper need is Jesus going to satisfy?

  • Why do we celebrate communion?
