DAY 1

Read Exodus 20:1-17

  • Which of the ten commandments apply to loving God?

  • Which of the ten commandments apply to loving others?

  • Are any of the commandment especially difficult for you?  Why?

     

DAY 2

Read Exodus 23:1-9

  • What groups of people are being protected by these rules?

  • What temptation might lead you to break these rules?

  • How does this Scripture apply to modern times?

DAY 3

Read Psalm 23

  • What does this Scripture say about God’s love?

  • How do you most need to experience God’s love today (green pastures, overflowing cup, etc.)?

  • Have you ever felt that you have been loved to overflowing?

Day 4

Read Ezekiel 34:20-24

  • What does this Scripture say about how people are treating each other?

  • What does God say He is going to do?

  • How does this Scripture apply to our modern world?

Day 5

Read Ezekiel 34:25-31

  • God says He is making a covenant of peace.  What is God’s side of the covenant?

  • What do you think the sheep need to do to keep their side of the covenant?

  • What imagery do you find most comforting or encouraging in this Scripture?

DAY 6

Read Mark 12:28-34

  • How does Jesus respond to the man’s question about the greatest commandment?

  • How do you think the two parts of the greatest commandment relate to each other?

  • Do you find one part harder to keep than the other?  Why?

Read John 13:1-17

  • What does Jesus physically do for the disciples?

  • What lesson is Jesus teaching?

  • Our ability to love God and others comes from our first being loved by God.  How secure do you feel in the unearned love of God?
